I am a public relations and marketing professional with more than 15 years of experience working with businesses on effective communications strategy. For the past several years, I have focused on helping companies integrate social media and content marketing into their corporate communications, branding and marketing strategies while still realizing the importance of traditional communications such as effective marketing collateral and consistent media relations.
I have experience with a wide array of industries including universities, government agencies, healthcare, food and beverage, large festivals and high-volume retail. My diversified career background also includes experience with employee/internal communications, marketing budgets, media buying and contracts, training and presentations and project management.
My career spans work in the entertainment industry, promotions, public relations and marketing for companies including: Solstas Lab Partners, Southeast natural foods grocer Earth Fare Market & Café, News & Record, WXLV ABC-45, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, UNC Greensboro, and Piedmont Triad Council of Governments.
A native of Greensboro, N.C., I received a bachelor of arts from UNC Greensboro’s Broadcasting and Cinema Studies. After college, I spent two years in Los Angeles working as a PR/Marketing intern for the LA Repertory Company. Rubbing shoulders with entertainment executives landed other jobs as a talent agent’s assistant at Ambrosio Mortimer Talent Agency in Beverly Hills, CA and as casting director’s assistant at Pressario Casting in Studio City, CA.
I’m also owner of Connections Public Relations, a public relations firm in Greensboro, N.C. focused on publicity and promotion using everything from traditional media, social media, emerging media and any other media waiting out there.
